水島太郎賞 トロフィーについて
12月15日、水島太郎賞が発表され、このトロフィーが手渡されます。
水島太郎賞は、作品や結果を評価する賞ではありません。
毎年、水島太郎自身が、その年を生きた「人」を選びます。
生き方、姿勢、迷い、選択、そして他者との関係性。
そうした目に見えにくい時間の積み重ねを、この賞は讃えます。
トロフィーの基部には「もも」があり、
その上に、その年の干支が静かに置かれます。
ももは始まりと更新を、干支は時を表します。
装飾は最小限に抑えられ、
素材の重みと沈黙だけが手に残ります。
それは到達点ではなく、次の一歩を照らすための問いです。

About the Taro Mizushima Prize Trophy
On December 15, the Taro Mizushima Prize is announced,
and this trophy is presented.
The prize does not honor a specific work or result.
Each year, Taro Mizushima personally selects a person
who has lived that year with presence, integrity, and quiet influence.
Ways of living, moments of hesitation, choices made,
and relationships formed with others —
these invisible accumulations of time are what the prize recognizes.
The base of the trophy is a peach,
with the zodiac animal of that year resting upon it.
The peach represents beginnings and renewal;
the zodiac marks the passage of time.
Decoration is kept to a minimum.
What remains in the hand is weight and silence.
This is not an endpoint, but a question
that gently illuminates the next step.
The trophy is not proof of achievement,
but a companion for the time that lies ahead.

À propos du trophée du Prix Taro Mizushima
Le 15 décembre, le Prix Taro Mizushima est annoncé
et ce trophée est remis.
Ce prix ne récompense ni une œuvre ni un résultat.
Chaque année, Taro Mizushima choisit lui-même une personne
qui a traversé l’année avec justesse, présence et discrète influence.
La manière de vivre, les hésitations, les choix,
les relations tissées avec les autres —
ce sont ces accumulations invisibles du temps que le prix honore.
La base du trophée est une pêche,
sur laquelle repose l’animal du zodiaque de l’année.
